  • people’s shoe choices
  • friends who are supportive no matter what (when I told them I wasn’t doing good in math, they didn’t all magically disappear…)
  • good book recommendations
  • jackets that go with any outfit
  • ambient lighting
  • sentimental videos
  • contactless hand sanitizer dispensers
  • people who don’t do anything for anyone but themselves
  • disco balls (they’re so cool!!)
  • people who match my energy (and are able to hold interesting convos)
  • people who run their own small business
  • my sister (she gave me her new computer for my freelancing gig)
  • eye contact
  • accurate directions
  • books I can read on my phone
  • paper towels (so that my hands aren’t immediately bombarded by bacteria filled air)
  • stained glass windows
  • people who listen to what you’re saying with genuine interest
  • bluetooth headphones (something is playing in my ear… but there’s no physical connection to the device, no wire, nothing that we can hold. that’s insane??)
  • essays that pinpoint exactly what I’m feeling
  • ava’s essays ♡

I take the bus to school most mornings, and it makes me really fucking sentimental. I’m not sure if it’s just that my brain is still half asleep or that there’s really no one else on the bus that early, but I’ve honestly been thinking about the amount of privilege I have that I don’t really appreciate. journaling is boring to me, and it feels cheesy to write what I’m thankful for in a notebook (insert bullet journal calligraphy heading — I really believe everyone had this phase at one point). it feels like a waste of paper if I just make a list, but there has to be someplace I could express it without feeling any pressure.

that place happened to be the internet.

it’s weird, isn’t it? the internet is really where anyone can see anything, yet it feels the most private. like no one really knows me. it feels like I have anonymity, even if that’s just a false perception.

but yeah. that’s why I’m writing this. maybe it’ll continue, these posts, or maybe not. we’ll see :)
